Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika sacked a close aide on Tuesday and barred him from taking a job in any state institutions, in a move local media said pointed to infighting in the ruling National Liberation Front (FLN). The state news agency reported, citing a presidential statement, that under the unexpected move, the ailing Bouteflika, 77, also banned Abdelaziz Belkhadem, his special adviser, from activities within the FLN. The statement gave no reason for the president's decision but local media speculated that Belkhadem had angered Bouteflika with comments seen as attempting to implicate him in a leadership struggle inside the FLN. http://news.yahoo.com/algerias-bouteflika-sacks-senior-aide-state-media-151241991.html http://www.wochit.com

BBC Media Action has been working with Radio Algeria on Public Service Broadcasting for the past three years. This video was produced in partnership with Radio Algeria and was screened at the "Ethics and public service media" conference on world radio day in February 2015. It demonstrates the BBC six editorial values in action (trust, audiences, diversity, quality, creativity, working together) and how they were transmitted through the rich exchange between both entities – the human resources, the know-how, the technical skills, the experience. The video was directed by Hammoudi Lagoune. This project is funded by the Arab Partnership Fund.
